The programme controlling the robosapiens is written in macromedia director, this approach involved using the macromedia XDK to write a new 'XTRA' exposing the functionality of the UIRT device to the lingo language. Taking this approach allows robosapien commands to be incorporated in the director timeline along with sound and interaction via joystick and serial phone connection.

The creation of this plugin was possible through the help of the Robosapien hacking community, and particularly thanks to Robert Oschler, creator of the open source Robodance application.

I am publishing the UIRT XTRA as free software if anyone else wants to incorporate robosapiens (or other IR devices) into their director application.
